Paired Shelves Around A Tunnel Spine

Level 124 has six short shelves on each side of a central road, plus numbered tunnel mouths at the top.

Recommended sequence:

left green -> right yellow -> left red -> right orange -> left blue -> right brown -> left purple -> right green -> left white -> right purple -> tunnel cleanup

Complete shelves in opposite-side pairs and keep the central spine open. Trigger only one tunnel at a time.

If a tunnel car enters while a shelf is active, finish the tunnel batch first. If one wall becomes shorter, switch to the exposed color on the taller side. Level 124 is complete when the shelves form clean horizontal bands and the spine carries no opposing traffic.

Pairing Shelves Without Opposing Traffic

Green and yellow form the roof pair. Red and orange come next, followed by blue and brown, purple and green, then white and purple near the bottom. Complete the left color, clear the spine, and only then release its right partner.

The tunnel mouths above the spine should be handled one at a time and preferably between shelf pairs. Finish the revealed tunnel color completely before returning to the walls.

If one bank drops more quickly, stop using it and clear the highest exposed shelf on the taller side. This keeps both entrances at similar heights and prevents head-on traffic.

A tunnel car already on the spine takes priority over every shelf. Park it, wait for the center to clear, and resume the interrupted pair. The board is ready for final cleanup when the bands are settled and no car waits at either side entrance.

Choosing A Safe Tunnel Moment

The best time to trigger a tunnel is immediately after an opposite-side pair, when the central spine is empty from roof to bottom. Finish the revealed cars and restore that same state before beginning the next green/yellow, red/orange, blue/brown, purple/green, or white/purple pair.

If a tunnel opens unexpectedly during shelf traffic, give the frontmost car priority. Park its entire revealed color, then return to whichever shelf had already crossed the midpoint. Do not open the opposite shelf until both streams are gone. Near the bottom, the central lane has even less recovery space, so preserve the alternating rhythm rather than draining the wall with more visible matches. A clean spine and roughly level walls are the two signs that the final tunnel cleanup can proceed safely.

Use the side entrances as a second check. After every pair, neither entrance should hold a car pointing toward the spine. If one does, finish that side before triggering another tunnel.

At the bottom pair, let white clear the lower turn before purple crosses from the right. The remaining tunnel cars can then travel the full vertical road without meeting shelf traffic at the last intersection.
