Car Sort Level 40 Solution Walkthrough
Route Reference
Key opening, middle, and finish positions for this route.

A Single Tall Loop With Alternating Shelves
Level 40 uses one narrow road around a tall stack of horizontal parking shelves. The top begins with purple, orange, and cyan, while the middle alternates pale empty bays with purple and cyan markers. Red, purple, cyan, blue, dark cars, and another red row occupy the lower half.
The clean route is:
top purple -> top orange -> top cyan -> upper cyan shelf -> upper purple shelf -> yellow middle blockers -> cyan middle row -> blue lower row -> dark lower row -> red bottom cleanup
Because every shelf exits onto the same left and right rails, the level should be solved from the top downward. Starting with bottom red puts traffic underneath every unopened row.
Descend Through The Shelves
Clear purple from the top pocket first. Purple frees the first turn across the roof of the loop. Orange follows along the exposed edge, then cyan. Let each group finish; the short top road has no room for three active colors.
Move to the first cyan shelf below the roof. Cyan opens the upper central bay and reveals the next purple release. Clear that purple row before touching the yellow and dark cars deeper in the board. At this stage the upper third should look like empty pale shelves bordered by a clear road.
Remove the yellow middle blockers next. Yellow is a checkpoint color: once it leaves, the road can carry the longer cyan row through the center. Complete cyan before opening blue. Blue then empties the first lower shelf and exposes the dark row underneath.
Clear the dark lower row as one batch. Red remains at the bottom for cleanup because it needs both rails and the final turn to be open. When all shelves above it are settled, send the red cars to finish the level.
Recovery Without Restarting
If a car stops on the right rail, look at the shelf immediately above it. An unfinished purple, yellow, or cyan batch is usually still feeding the road. Complete that color before moving farther down.
If blue or the dark row was opened early, stop tapping bottom red. Finish the active lower color and then check that the upper shelves are empty. A red car on the road while the middle still contains cyan is the most difficult state to recover, because both groups need the same long side.
Useful checkpoints for the Car Sort Level 40 walkthrough are the empty upper shelves after purple/cyan, the open center after yellow, and the exposed bottom red row after blue and the dark cars leave. The final completion screen arrives quickly once red is the only color left using the tall loop.
Before that last red batch, trace the loop from the lower-left corner up the right rail. No yellow, cyan, blue, or dark car should still be travelling there. This road check matters more than whether every shelf looks visually complete: a single car on the rail can meet red at the bottom turn and turn an otherwise solved layout into a final-move jam.
