Tight Loop Walkthrough

This board is tighter than Level 156. A rounded rectangular loop surrounds a busy middle, while red, yellow, blue, and purple sit in the lower stacks. The lower edge is the bottleneck, so the middle must be shortened first.

Start with green from the top-center area. Then clear cyan in the center, followed by blue in the middle. These moves open the lower edge of the loop. After that, pull red from the bottom columns, then yellow.

The final movement is the purple/pink cleanup, which should wait until the lower edge no longer has to carry red and yellow.

Route:

green top-center -> cyan center -> blue middle -> red bottom columns -> yellow bottom columns -> purple/pink cleanup

If yellow blocks the road early, back up and finish the center cyan/blue group first. The route reference shows the bottom is a second phase, not the start.

Lower Edge Timing

Level 157 uses a rounded loop, but the lower edge is tighter than it looks. Red and yellow cannot become main moves until the center has been shortened.

  1. Open with green from the top-center. Green is positioned to reduce the middle without pulling cars from the bottom.
  2. Clear cyan from the center. Cyan is the next center batch and should move while the loop is still clean.
  3. Move blue in the middle before bottom colors. Blue helps empty the lower edge of the central block.
  4. Check the lower edge before red. If the lower edge still has center traffic, red will stop in the loop.
  5. Pull red from the bottom columns. Red is the first true bottom move. Keep it together until the red path is stable.
  6. Follow with yellow from the bottom. Yellow uses the same lower edge after red clears.
  7. Finish purple and pink. These colors are late cleanup because they are easier once red and yellow are gone.

The route works when the loop is used in order: center first, bottom second. Starting with red or yellow is the move that usually creates the jam.

What The Lower Edge Should Look Like

In this Car Sort: Color Puzzle Level 157 walkthrough, the lower edge is the checkpoint. Before red moves, the center green, cyan, and blue groups should have already reduced the block inside the loop. Before yellow moves, red should no longer be occupying the lower edge. Before purple and pink cleanup, the bottom should have enough empty spaces to send cars directly.

If your lower edge contains red and yellow at the same time, stop opening columns. Finish the color with the clearest exit, then resume the planned order. The route avoids this problem by treating red and yellow as separate lower phases rather than a mixed bottom sweep.
