Reading The Square Road And Four Parking Banks

Car Sort: Color Puzzle Level 207 is built around a large square road enclosing three narrow parking towers. Three garage stacks stand above the road, while four covered parking banks sit below it. The board looks symmetrical, but the solution is not simply a left-to-right sweep. Every car from the center and lower banks must share the same square loop, and the short bottom edge becomes the main pressure point whenever two colors are released together.

The opening layout gives you one useful clue: the exposed orange, yellow, pink, and cyan cars at the feet of the center towers are already close to the road. Those short rows should provide the first working space. The black-backed cars higher in the three towers are not a good opening target, because they still depend on the matching top garages and on a clear corner of the loop. Likewise, the numbered bottom banks are reserve groups. Opening several of those covers before the middle is reduced creates more traffic without creating another exit.

The safest route reference is:

orange and yellow lower edges -> pink center pair -> cyan side pair -> upper red and blue groups -> purple center tower -> numbered bottom banks one at a time -> final lower garages

Treat that line as a sequence of board states rather than a command to tap every visible car of one color immediately. At each checkpoint, wait until the active color has rounded the square and reached its garage. A car still travelling along the top or right edge means the batch is not finished, even if another matching group has become visible below.

The first solve and the replay show the same broad progression. Early on, traffic fills the outer loop while all three center towers remain tall. By the middle checkpoint, the left and right towers are mostly empty and the board has one clear vertical channel through its center. Late in the replay, the center purple column is the only substantial block inside the square; after that column clears, the bottom banks can feed the road without trapping cars at the lower corners.

Opening Route: Make The Loop Useful Before Opening Covers

Begin with the short exposed groups along the lower edge of the inner square. Orange and yellow have the most direct access to the road and do not require you to uncover a new bank. Send one complete color, watch it clear the lower turn, and only then start the other. If orange cars remain on the bottom-left bend, do not add yellow cars from the opposite side. That mixed queue is the easiest way to lose the one empty section that the center towers need.

The pink pair at the base of the middle tower is the next useful release. Pink occupies the central mouth of the square, so removing it does more than reduce the car count: it exposes the route into the middle tower and prevents the bottom edge from acting like a wall. Cyan on the left and right sides can follow once pink is no longer waiting on the loop. Cyan should travel as a compact batch; a half-finished cyan movement leaves cars on both side lanes and makes the top red or blue release unnecessarily tight.

Use these opening checkpoints:

  1. Clear one lower-edge color completely. Orange or yellow should reach its matching garage before a second color enters the loop. The lower-left and lower-right bends must not both become waiting areas.
  2. Remove the exposed pink center cars. Pink is the plug directly beneath the middle tower. Finishing it creates the first visible gap through the inner parking block.
  3. Send the cyan side cars through the opened road. Cyan becomes safe after pink because the square now has somewhere to absorb the turning animation without holding another color.
  4. Pause before touching a numbered bank. At this point the covers look tempting, but the center towers still own most of the road capacity. Leave the reserve groups closed.

If the replay state does not match after these moves, check the outer road rather than tapping deeper into a tower. The usual problem is one unfinished car sitting behind a corner. Finish its color, let the lane settle, and then return to the sequence. Level 207 rarely requires a restart at this stage; it requires patience while the square finishes moving a batch.

Middle Checkpoint: Reduce The Side Towers, Then The Purple Core

Once the lower mouth is open, work upward through the left and right center towers. Red and blue are the important visible batches in this phase. The route works best when one side tower is shortened enough to expose road space before the opposite side starts feeding cars. Do not alternate individual red and blue taps. Keep the currently moving color together until its stack is clearly reduced and its cars are no longer circling the square.

This is also where the three top garages begin to matter. A top garage may look ready while cars of another color still occupy the right-hand bend. Wait for that bend to clear. Releasing an upper group too early sends it directly into the most crowded section of the loop and can pin the next center car behind it.

After the side towers shrink, the tall purple group in the middle becomes the board's central checkpoint. Purple is safer now because the left and right channels have been created by the earlier batches. Move the visible purple cars as one sustained phase. Do not interrupt purple to open a lower cover merely because a counter has appeared. The replay reaches a clean state where the purple column stands almost alone inside the square; that is the state you want before committing to the bottom banks.

A reliable middle-board check looks like this:

  • the left inner tower is mostly empty;
  • the right inner tower is mostly empty;
  • the top road has no mixed queue;
  • purple is the main remaining color inside the square;
  • the numbered banks below are still being opened selectively, not all at once.

If red remains trapped while blue has already entered the road, complete whichever color currently occupies the top-right corner. That corner controls the whole loop. Once it empties, return to the unfinished side tower instead of introducing a third color.

Bottom-Bank Release And Final Cleanup

The four lower parking banks are the late-game mechanism of Level 207. Their counters conceal additional groups, so opening one bank is not equivalent to clearing it. Reveal one bank, inspect the exposed color, and finish that color before revealing another bank. This keeps the lower edge working as a route rather than temporary storage.

Start with the bank whose mouth already has a free connection to the bottom road. If its first revealed row matches a garage that is still accessible, complete that row and allow the counter to advance. If the next layer changes color, stop and reassess the loop; do not keep tapping simply because the same bank remains open. The correct next move is whichever revealed batch can travel directly without joining a different color already on the square.

The late replay shows the inner square nearly empty while the lower cyan, orange, dark red, and pale-purple stacks remain. That is intentional. These tall lower groups are cleanup traffic, and they become straightforward only after the inner purple core and side towers have stopped feeding the road. Work through the banks one at a time, using the empty square as a circulation lane. The final tall stacks can then move directly to their matching garages without competing for a corner.

If you opened the bottom too early, recover in this order:

  1. Stop opening new covers.
  2. Identify the color already occupying the lower road.
  3. Finish that color from its exposed bank or matching center stack.
  4. Wait until the bottom-left and bottom-right corners are clear.
  5. Resume with the unfinished center checkpoint before returning to another bank.

The most common failed board has mixed cars parked across the lower edge while one purple or red group still blocks the center. Clearing random visible cars will usually make that state worse. Completing the active road color restores one full side of the loop; clearing the remaining center blocker then restores the other.

Level 207 is solved by controlling when each area becomes active. The exposed lower rows create the opening buffer, the side towers enlarge it, the purple center column marks the transition, and the covered bottom banks use the fully opened square for cleanup. Keep those phases separate and the board has enough room throughout the solution. Mix them together, and the square road turns into a parking lot long before the final garages are ready.
