One Vertical Road Beside Five Horizontal Shelves

Car Sort: Color Puzzle Level 223 places five parking shelves beside a tall road that runs down the left edge and bends under the lowest row. Three multi-color towers stand above, and three numbered reserve banks wait below. The shelves expose red, cyan, white, pale purple, pink, and yellow layers. Every shelf feeds the same vertical lane, so the highest active row must clear before a lower row joins it.

The upper towers begin with green/purple, yellow/blue, and pale-purple/orange fronts. The route snapshots show them later becoming clean red and orange columns. Inside the shelf block, red becomes the strongest upper band, cyan/white controls the middle, and pale purple, pink, and yellow form the lower cleanup rows.

Recommended route:

top green/purple -> top yellow/blue -> top pale-purple/orange -> upper red shelf -> cyan shelf -> white middle row -> pale-purple row -> pink/yellow lower rows -> bottom green/pink/orange reserves -> final red tower

The active car on the vertical road always has priority. Finish its color before opening another shelf or reserve counter.

Establish The Top Entrance

Begin with the left top tower. Clear its exposed green or purple layer and wait for the top bend to empty. The center tower follows with yellow or blue, then the right tower with pale purple or orange.

These small batches create the first usable approach to the vertical road. Do not start the long red shelf while a top car still occupies the upper-left corner. Red has several cars and will fill the entire lane.

Opening checks:

  1. the left tower shortens;
  2. the center batch reaches its garage;
  3. the right tower clears the top bend;
  4. no bottom bank has been opened to search for a matching color.

If a top car stalls, complete its visible tower. Shelf traffic cannot create another exit.

Clear The Shelves From The Road Mouth Downward

The upper red row is the first major shelf checkpoint. It sits nearest the top entrance and blocks the cyan row beneath it. Send red as one uninterrupted batch. Once the road is empty, clear cyan.

White occupies the next middle shelf. It should move after cyan because its cars need the full vertical lane and bottom bend. Pale purple follows from the row below. Pink and yellow are late lower shelves and should remain parked until the rows above have stopped feeding traffic.

Use these shelf states:

  • red disappears from the highest active row;
  • cyan leaves a clean empty shelf;
  • white clears the middle without pale purple joining it;
  • pale purple opens the lower bend;
  • pink and yellow become full visible bands before cleanup.

If a shelf counter changes color, stop tapping it. Finish the active batch, let the road reset, and then decide whether the new layer has a direct garage path.

Why The White Row Is The Midgame Gate

White spans the middle of the shelf block and exits into the narrowest section of the vertical lane. Clearing it does more than remove one color: it separates the upper red/cyan work from the lower purple/pink/yellow work.

Do not combine white from a bottom reserve while the middle shelf is only partly cleared. The extra cars enter at the bottom and can meet the shelf batch head-on near the bend. Finish the visible middle row first.

After white, the central portion of the board should show an empty horizontal strip and a clear left road edge. If either remains occupied, finish that road color before continuing downward.

Open The Bottom Banks After The Shelf Block Settles

The lower reserve banks contain green, pink, orange, red, and hidden layers. They are late cleanup groups. Open one counter only after pink or yellow has cleared the lowest shelf and the bottom bend is empty.

Green can usually move first from the clear left bank. Pink follows if the matching shelf group is already complete. Orange then uses the open road, while red remains a final batch connected to the tall upper tower.

For every reserve layer:

  1. reveal the color;
  2. finish it completely;
  3. wait for the vertical road to empty;
  4. inspect the next layer;
  5. leave a different color parked until its route opens.

Do not reduce all counters evenly. Their cars merge immediately at the lower-left bend.

Recovery And Final Checkpoints

If the vertical road contains two colors, stop every tap. Complete the color farther up the lane first, then finish the second. Resume from the highest unfinished shelf.

If the top bend is blocked, stop shelf and reserve releases and finish the active top-tower color. If the bottom bend blocks, finish the active lower shelf or bank before returning upward.

Late route checkpoints show red, cyan, white, pale purple, and yellow as clean shelf bands, with green, pink, purple, and orange in the lower banks. Choose one full band nearest the empty road and clear it. Avoid alternating pink and yellow simply because both are visible.

The final red tower should wait until the shelf block no longer sends cars. Red is a long batch and needs the entire left road. Once it begins, finish it without opening another counter.

One last useful check is the empty space between shelves. After a row clears, that gap should remain visibly unused while the next color travels. If cars appear to pause inside the gap, the road below is still occupied. Finish the travelling batch before tapping the next row. This prevents a late shelf release from hiding the actual blocker on the vertical lane.

Level 223 is solved by vertical priority. The top towers open the road, the five shelves empty from their road mouth downward, white marks the midgame handoff, and the bottom banks wait for a clear bend. Protect the single lane and the final pink, orange, and red groups move directly to their garages.
