Car Sort: Color Puzzle Level 284 route reference

Reading the S-bend board

The upper-left shelf stack contains green, dark colors, yellow, and later pale shades. The upper-right shelves carry yellow, orange, black, and then several bright follow-up colors. Across the bottom, a long horizontal bay begins mixed and eventually becomes a home for red, purple, cyan, and other late colors.

The bend itself is the whole puzzle. If one color enters from above while another waits from below, the board stops feeling large and immediately becomes cramped. The clean replay never gives the bend to two unrelated colors at once.

The counter starts at eighteen, so space exists, but it is false space if the bend is occupied by the wrong leftovers.

Recommended route order

Use:

yellow → green → orange → purple → red → cyan → pink → beige → dark cleanup

Yellow opens both sides without committing the lower bay. Green then clears the left rack. Orange is the first safe right-rack color. Purple becomes the signal that the lower bay can start mattering. Red is the big mid-to-late transition, and cyan plus pink are finishers that use the now-open lower strip.

Yellow opening across both sides

Yellow is the first color because it is already visible on both the left and right halves and can shorten the shelves without filling the bottom bay. Finish the early yellow before touching orange on the right.

This is an important difference from a shorter summary route. The replay does not just tap yellow because it is visible. It uses yellow to delay the moment when the bend must decide between left-rack traffic and right-rack traffic.

Once yellow is stable, the left half has the next claim on the road.

Green clears the left rack

Green sits in the left stack and later becomes one of the first clean lower columns. Move it while the right shelves are still mostly parked. That gives the left half a full uninterrupted window and prevents the bend from being shared.

The frames around the first minute show the correct shape: the left side is thinning, the right side is still waiting, and the lower bay is not being used as a general storage strip. If your replay already has orange and green mixed around the middle bend here, you are early on the right side.

Orange and the right-rack release

Only after yellow and green are in good shape should orange start. Orange's role is to empty the right side enough that the lower bay can later accept red and purple safely.

Do not combine orange with an early red from below. Both colors want the same exit and both are long enough to dominate the bend. The clean route lets orange finish first, then converts that clean right-side lane into the next phase.

At the middle checkpoint, yellow and green should already look finished or nearly finished, orange should be the active color, and the lower bay should still be relatively controlled.

Purple turns the lower bay on

Purple is the first color that really tells you the bottom strip is ready to work. It appears after the upper racks have already been softened, and it passes through the bend more safely than a rushed red would.

When purple is complete, the board stops feeling like two side racks and starts feeling like a top-and-bottom handoff. That is the main rhythm change in Level 284.

Red through the long lower bay

Red is the big late horizontal barrier. Once it begins, treat it as a featured phase, not a side task. The replay spends a visible stretch pushing red through the long bay while other tempting colors stay parked.

If you tap cyan or pink before red has claimed its lane, the lower strip becomes mixed and the right bend loses its clean handoff. Hold the line here. Let red leave a fully open lower road behind it.

Cyan, pink, and final towers

Cyan and pink are strong only after red and purple have simplified the lower strip. Cyan usually arrives as a neat side-to-bottom transition, while pink is one of the final broad horizontal groups in the replay. Beige and pale shades follow once the upper shelves are basically decorative rather than blocking.

Dark cleanup belongs at the end because the dark fronts are divided across both racks and the long lower strip. They do not improve the board early, but they are easy once every bright color already owns a garage.

Recovery advice

If the S-bend is blocked from above, finish yellow, green, or orange depending on which side currently owns the bend.

If the S-bend is blocked from below, finish purple or red before opening another upper shelf.

If the lower bay is mixed too early, stop opening right-side colors and complete the longest color already in the bay. The bay should operate as a full-batch lane, not as spare parking.

The simplest replay checkpoint is this: yellow done, green done, orange done, purple started on a quiet road. If you can get back to that shape, the late red and cyan phases recover naturally.

Car Sort Level 284 detailed route reference

Level 284 is really about ownership of the S-bend. Yellow and green earn it first, orange earns it next, purple signals the lower strip is ready, and red spends that space in one long controlled sweep. Keep that handoff clean and the rest of the board follows.
